What is pain?
Pain can manifest itself in various ways; from a discomfort to tingling, burning, stinging, or prickling sensation. Any of these is an unpleasant sensation for those who suffer from it. However, pain can also be seen as a friend with a warning voice. The body uses it to communicate that something is not right and thanks to this signal, sent by the nervous system, the will to take action on the matter is activated. We deal with it faster and thus regain a sense of well-being as soon as possible.
Pain is a complex and individual experience; each brain interprets it in a different way and degree. Sensory, emotional and social aspects influence this and of course the cause of pain as well.
The International Association for the Study of Pain defined pain as “an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage”
How to choose a suitable pain treatment?
Depending on the cause of the pain and the person suffering from it, relief can be found in different forms and treatments. The World Health Organization (WHO) uses the “Analgesic Ladder” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK554435/ , which consists of imagining that the patient is in an elevator, where he has 4 buttons to select according to the degree of pain he experiences, either (1) mild pain, (2) moderate pain, (3) severe and excruciating pain, (4) persistent pain. According to the selection, the professional in charge will supply the type of analgesic with respect to the degree of pain.
However, depending on the criteria of the professional and the level of pain that the patient manifests, analgesics with strong side effects can be used, which can eventually lead to greater health complications.
People who suffer from recurrent pain such as headache, back pain, menstrual pain and that are popularly known as non-threatening conditions, can find ways to relieve their ailments without necessarily going to a health professional. Homemade remedies or other popularly known solutions can be sufficient to relief pain for these conditions.
Persons that perceive intense pain and describe it as acute and abnormally severe, should seek the opinion of a professional as soon as possible.
Pain relief alternatives, without side effects.
Health professionals have a very challenging task to provide solutions to pain that are lasting and real for the patient, instead of simply masking the symptoms. It is recommended, as far as possible, to avoid collateral damage to health due to the side effects of using medications and to stay away from risky procedures that can cause more problems if these do not address the real cause. It is important to address the real cause of the condition.
In this sense, alternative functional medicine such as homeopathy, hypnotherapy, energy medicine, nutrition, ozone therapy, magnet therapy, acupuncture, to name a few, can be a way to treat pain in an integrative pain management program.
MyMat® Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) is a good alternative to be used for holistic pain control and cellular regeneration. In combination with other therapies, such as those mentioned in the previous paragraph, it can give much better results in less time. Dr. Pawluk, author of the book “The Pain Solution Summit” and winner of the 2019 ACIM Lifetime Achievement Award, affirms that patients who have a PEMF device for home use perceive even better results than those who receive occasionally therapies in different health centres.
PEMF therapy with MyMat® for pain relief management
Living with pain means a reduction of a person’s quality of life, as it affects their overall enjoyment, their ability to work, even their ability to take care of themselves. Chronic pain can trigger other inconveniences such as the loss of economic security due to the difficulty of working optimally. This affects not only the person who suffers it, but also the group of people who surround this person. Social isolation is another consequence that they might have to deal with, due to suffering depressions or a decreased vital energy level.
MyMat@ PEMF therapies are an alternative and non-invasive option without side effects, for people suffering from any type of pain.
Thousands of scientific studies have been conducted since 1980 and demonstrate that PEMF therapies contribute to improvements in neurochemical conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, and addictions among much more, as well as in neuropathological conditions such as memory loss, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and after cerebrovascular accidents, among others.
PEMF promotes healing at the cellular level and stimulates the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) which controls many body functions such as heart rate, breathing, digestion and perspiration.
Brain stimulation with MyMat PEMF therapies adjusts brain activity to the body’s natural rhythms, helping to relieve pain and psychological distress, helps to induce deep sleep through theta-delta frequencies, stimulates receptors and hormones in the human body necessary for deep relaxation and sleep. This is why MyMat® users enthusiastically report great improvement in their quality of sleep, ability to relax and relief from many types of discomfort.
The body is a complex system, with many different types of cells. MyMat® is a portable, wireless PEMF therapy device that allows the user to choose from more than 80 different therapies through an app on their cell phone according to the treatment they need.
